Standing Grantee Call:
Planning for Future Long Term Care Support Needs (October 6, 2005)
Call Topic
Aging and Disability Resource Centers are tasked with serving populations of all ages regardless of income. This teleconference served as a technical assistance tool to introduce ADRCs to techniques and strategies to assist consumers with planning for their future long term care needs; this particularly includes the private pay consumer. The call included discussions of consumers’ perceptions regarding LTC planning, initiatives focusing on LTC planning (SHIPs and the “Own Your Future” campaign), a spotlight on North Carolina’s efforts at managing a visible LTC future planning campaign; and a facilitated question-and-answer segment.
- Speakers:
- Eileen J Tell: Senior Vice President for Product Development with Long Term Care Group Inc. (LTCG), a third-party administrator exclusively for long term care.
- John Cutler: Senior Policy Analyst for OPM on health, long term care, and retirement matters; currently assisting the Administration on Aging’s Center for Planning and Policy Development.
- Debbie Brantley: Chief of the Elder Rights and Special Initiatives Section with the Division of Aging and Adult Services in the North Carolina Department Health and Human Services.
