VT Brain Injury/ ADRC Cross Training

Vermont uses this Brain Injury/ADRC cross training curriculum designed by the Brain Injury Association of Vermont as part of a cross-training of their ADRC partner agencies. There is a generalized training on brain injury, and a more specialized cross training for the VT ADRC partners that could be adapted by other BIAs doing similar work with their ADRCs. There are post tests for both. It provides general education for ADRC staff on the nature of brain injury.

DCoE Outreach Center for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury

The Defense Centers of Excellence have opened a 24-hour outreach center to provide information and referrals to military service members, veterans, their families and others with questions about psychological health and traumatic brain injury. The outreach center can assist with everything from routine requests for information about psychological health and traumatic brain injury, to questions about symptoms a caller is having, to helping a caller find appropriate health care resources. The new center can be contacted around the clock, 365 days a year, by phone at 866-966-1020 and by e-mail at resources@dcoeoutreach.org.

AbleLink Technologies Announces Enhanced Memory Aid For Persons with Traumatic Brain Injuries

AbleLink Technologies, a developer of cognitive technologies, announced a new version of its specialized memory aid designed to improve executive functioning skills for individuals with brain injuries and other cognitive issues. Research funded through DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Programs Agency) and feedback from soldiers with cognitive injuries led to enhancements to AbleLink's Schedule Assistant which operates on commercially available handheld computers and gives users a powerful tool for managing tasks and schedules.
